POLITICS OF LOCATION
by Adrienne Rich
"The prize of life itself, and most women in the world must fight for their lives on many fronts at once."
Besides being a woman, we are also identified by the color of our skin, sexual orientation, culture, faith, and so on. Factors that set us apart ultimately also brings us together as a collective.

It would be unfair to allow one woman to speak for the experience of the marginalized and less dominant group. Especially for this group, deadly sameness erases the history and archives only experienced by them.

The fight for life itself can only begin once we, as women, allow ourselves to experience more of life. As Adrienne Rich writes, "We are the women who ask questions. Breaking down, again and again, the false male universe."

"Not to transcend this body, but to reclaim it."
We are one with our body. Soul, spirit, heart, body, and mind are all connected. It is all one.

Reclaiming the body means to me that you take back control of your thoughts, freedom, and speech, and the way women move across the world. Instead of allowing male dominance to define how we should behave in a situation, we remain true to what feels right and just to us.
